Rare Kinsale is such a special place. We went for my husband’s birthday dinner and it honestly could not have been a more perfect way to celebrate. From the moment we walked in, everything felt warm, welcoming and beautifully considered.
The tasting menu is just stunning. Every course is thoughtfully created, full of flavour and presented with such elegance. The idea of bringing a South Indian twist into Irish food is so unique and it is executed so beautifully. Each dish has its own personality and everything tasted absolutely yummylicious.
The attention to detail is just incredible. The cocktails and wine pairings are also so well thought out and complement the food perfectly. It is truly worth the money,
especially for such a memorable immersive experience.

Chef Meeran is doing something really special here, and his leadership clearly reflects in the team and the food they create. There is such care, creativity and consistency in everything that comes out of the kitchen. It is already featured in the top restaurant in Ireland and is in Michelin Guide several times, which says so much, and I genuinely feel it is only a matter of time before a star follows. I cannot wait to go back and experience it all over again. Thanks to all of you ❤️🙏🏾

It is wonderful to hear that the "South Indian twist" on Irish ingredients resonated with you so deeply. Chef Meeran and the entire team strive to create an immersive experience where every flavour and pairing feels intentional, and your appreciation for that creativity means the world to us. Your words regarding our consistency and leadership are a great source of pride for the kitchen and front-of-house teams alike.

We are humbled by your mention of the Michelin Guide and your confidence in our future; it is our passion to continue pushing these culinary boundaries. We eagerly await your next visit to Rare. ❤️

I dined at nearly every Michelin and many Bib Gourmand restaurants in Ireland this spring, and Rare stands among the very best. Every course was purposeful — gentle Indian spices, deep respect for tradition and ingredient, real artistry on the plate. A scallop dish brought tears to my eyes. Dining solo, I was treated wonderfully. Ireland was a dream, and Rare was one of its highlights.

My wife and I had an excellent vegetarian meal here tonight, Indian inspired but different from any Indian food I have had before, from locally sourced ingredients. The courses were flavorful and varied, filling but not overwhelming. The paneer in a corgette blossom and the chocolate dessert were highlights. The wine recommended by our sommelier was very good too, and we felt well cared for by the staff.
